Overview
St Peter and St Paul CE Primary School is a Christian primary school in North Lincolnshire. With over 320 children on roll, they support children from ages 4 to 11. We spoke to Amy Greenwood, Teaching Assistant at St Peter and St Paul CE Primary School, to hear about the school’s experience using Medical Tracker to record pupil incidents.
“My experience of Medical Tracker is fantastic, it’s easy to use, saved us loads of time and has made our first aid provision simpler.”
What problems does Medical Tracker solve?
- All medication that is due to expire is now replaced in time due to medication expiry reminders being sent to parents.
- The school now has a simple and effective incident recording system.
- School staff save lots of time with the drop-down boxes for each incident recorded.
How is Medical Tracker used across the school?
St Peter and St Paul CE Primary School use Medical Tracker across the whole school. It has allowed school staff to save time when providing effective first aid treatment (including the recording of incidents). Previously, the school used paper slips to notify parents of injury and found they often didn’t make it home. To improve pupil safety and parent communication, they introduced Medical Tracker in 2023 to simplify their first aid provision.
St Peter and St Paul’s use the parent reminder feature effectively to ensure the medication kept in school is always up to date and replaced before it expires. The staff find it easy to use and access the support videos to assist any new staff with using the software.
What impact has Medical Tracker had on first aid provision?
- Amy and her team of first aiders can now send reminders to parents about expiring medication, keeping pupils safe in school.
- The drop-down boxes that include children’s names and a photograph synced from the school’s MIS system helps with any children staff may be less familiar with.
- Parents are now consistently informed of pupil incident (including medication administration).

It helps me with our site manager and look at health and safety improvements. For example, In technology, the bulk of our injuries were eye injuries and it was through not wearing safety goggles. So we were able to locate what health and safety issues are happening in departments.

It's a really simple solution to a complex problem. I can't think why no one has come up with it before now. It’s also easy to get support and the system is being developed all the time.
