Luke O'Dwyer, Medical Tracker Co-founder, completed the Certificate in School Business Management with the National Association of School Business Managers (now ISBL) in 2012 while working as a School Business Manager before leaving his role to launch Medical Tracker in May 2015.

Duplicate books and exercise books were used to record accidents. Mulitple books were placed in different locations across the school. This made it nearly impossible to collate all the records for one student and he would rely on staff communicating when a serious incident had occurred.
After an incident was recorded, a duplicate slip or a paperslip was completed to give to the student and then to the parent/carer. This raised concerns that these notifications might get lost or left in book bags, and therefore, the parents/carers might not be notified. If phone calls were made, we had no way of noting down what information was relayed to the parent/carer or who they spoke to.
Termly Governor reports would be manually created using the information from the duplicate and exercise books. We would collate the information on an Excel spreadsheet to then create reportsβthis was time-consuming and prone to errors, with different staff using different terminology and sometimes making the information illegible.
Our forms are designed to adhere to the relevant legal guidelines. They feature mandatory fields, preventing staff from saving any record until all necessary information is filled in. These fields are intuitively set up as either drop-down menus or auto-fill options, guaranteeing accurate spelling for every entry, including names.
All drop-downs can be customised to suit the needs of each school using Medical Tracker.
Our templates come ready-made with the essential details you want to communicate to parents/carers and can be edited. Once a record is saved the templates automatically fill with the information and, leveraging the contact information from your MIS, can be sent instantly at the press of a button β complete with an audit trail. Additionally, staff members receive automated notifications based on their specific roles.
